How Winnowed works, how big a list is, and what it costs. If yours is not here, write to hans@winnowed.co.uk.
It counts any trade in the United Kingdom, free, from the Companies House register. Then it reads each chosen company's own website and returns a way to reach them, or the reason there is not one.
The Companies House register: every active UK company in the trade and area you choose. The contact details come from each company's own website, read on the day you build the list.
No, and that is deliberate. You get the company, its website, and the email address and phone number the business publishes. Where a site shows only a person's own address, we leave it out and give you the phone number. Our guide shows how to find who to ask for.
No. Winnowed sends us the trade and the area you asked for. Every contact page is read on your computer, and the contacts never leave it.
A website only counts when it proves it: its registered number, its full registered name or its registered postcode. Each row says which. If a site cannot prove it, the row gets no website and no contact, and says why.
Yes, both.
Count it free before you spend anything. Type the trade, choose anywhere in the United Kingdom or a postcode, and it tells you how many active companies there are. You can count as often as you like.
As big as your allowance. Starter covers 2,000 companies a year, Team 10,000 a year, and Pipeline 10,000 a month. A year of 2,000 can be 1 list of 2,000 or 10 lists of 200: the allowance is spent by the company, not by the list.
2,000 companies checked, not 2,000 contact details. Winnowed looks for each company's website, reads it where there is one, and reports what it found. A company with a way to reach it and a company without both spend 1.
It depends on the trade, and the count shows you. Where we have measured a trade end to end, the count gives that trade's own rate: road freight came in at 19 in every 100, transport support at 23, accountants at 29. Where we have not measured a trade yet, the count says so and shows a range.
Take all of it in 1 list. Asking for 2,000 from a trade of 1,400 returns the 1,400 and spends 1,400.
You get companies you have not had yet, and you are never charged twice for the same one. A trade of 3,000 can be taken 1,000 at a time, 3 times over, with no repeats.
Run the same search again. Newly registered companies come back alongside any older ones you have not had yet.
About 360 companies an hour, which is the rate we measured on a run of 2,773 companies. So 2,000 companies is most of a working day. It runs on your computer and you can leave it.
"Run my last list again" picks the same companies back up, free.
A file in your own Downloads folder that opens in any spreadsheet: 1 row per company, with its website, email and phone where it publishes them, and the reason where it does not.
Counting is free. Starter is £249 a year for 2,000 companies. Team is £625 a year for 10,000. Pipeline is £299 a month for 10,000 a month, with a 6-month minimum. If you would rather not run anything, we build the list for you from £995.
Yes. Moving from Starter to Team costs £376, the difference in price, and your renewal date stays the same.
No. The allowance resets when you renew. The lists you already built stay yours.
Write to us within 30 days and we refund you in full. Separately, if a row names the wrong company, tell us within 30 days of the run and that company goes back into your allowance.
That needs an agency licence. Tell us how many clients and we will price it.
A limited company can be emailed without prior consent, as long as you say who you are and make it easy to opt out. Sole traders and ordinary partnerships need consent first. Once you hold a named person's details, data protection law applies to you. This is not legal advice; parts 2 and 4 of our guide set out what the regulator expects.
It comes from an address ending @winnowed.co.uk, and any email about your subscription quotes the last 4 characters of your key. Only you and we know your key, so an email that does not quote them is not from us.
Your whole key, a password or your card details, by email or by phone. Winnowed has no passwords. If we need to check who you are, we ask for the last 4 characters of your key and nothing more.
On Stripe's own payment pages, reached from winnowed.co.uk. We never see or store your card details.
Only from winnowed.co.uk/install. We do not send the app as an attachment, and it is not on any other website.
Your email address, your key, and a record of which companies you have been given: the company number and the date, never a contact. The contact details are read on your computer and stay there.
Do not click anything in it. Forward it to hans@winnowed.co.uk and we will tell you whether it was ours.
